I'm very laid-back, but love to have fun, as everyone should. My situation (being a full-time Marine) makes it hard to meet people outside of my "job". So, I'm givin the whole internet thing a try. . . why not. If something's worth having, sometimes you gotta take a chance. I've got a good head on my shoulders, and my feet planted firmly on the ground. . . but I find it hard to be serious ALL the time. Life is for living, so why not enjoy it. Don't sweat the small stuff, and laugh whenever possible (especially at yourself. . . never take yourself too seriously). I get the question a lot about "Do you wanna make it a career?" No, I don't. Haha. The way I look at it is I'm 26 now. By the time I get out I'll be 28. I have goals and dreams that I plan on achieving and the military lifestyle is definitely not flexible enough for me to do that. I always saw it as a stepping-stone: 4 years of my life, being shot at and doin stupid stuff, in exchange for free/almost free education. Kind of an easy choice, for what it's worth. When I get out I plan to already have a degree, probably just a general degree in preparation for nursing/medical school (I plan on becoming a male nurse or doctor... leaning towards nurse). By the time it's all said and done I hope to have a masters if not a doctoral, almost free if I play my cards right. I'm absolutely in love with the outdoors... forests, mountains, hills, trees, ponds, streams, lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, coral reefs... all of it. I want to see as much of it as possible. I'm planning to hike the Appalachian Trail one day (1900-2100 miles, depending on the route you take) and want to hike Alaska as well as Everest, K2, Denali, McKinnley, Kilomanjaro, etc., etc., etc. I want to skydive, basejump, explore caves (under and above water), climb mountains... I wanna sit on a cliff-side in Scotland and watch the waves crash against the rocks while the grass bends and sways all around me. I want to run marathons and triathalons. I want to live life to the fullest, you only get one try... it may be a somewhat late start, but it's still an early start depending on how you look at it ;) ***My location is set as Birmingham, Alabama because that's where I live and play, although I'm stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina until April 2013 (when I get out)***
