My special someone is a diamond amongst unpolished stones. Her eyes tend to light up an entire room. Her mere presence requires others to stop and take notice. She is equally as comfortable in boxers and a t-shirt, as she is stilettos and evening wear. She's a "fashionista" of the highest caliber. She is soft spoken but not shy. Her humility and surrender are unparalleled by most. She feels secure and safe when I'm holding her hand, because she knows I am her protector, her provider, her confidant, her "Brown King". She is my very best friend. She doesn't mind discussing our goals and future plans while walking in park full of screaming children. She knows that intimacy will NOT be shared unless the "Chemistry Gods" have smiled upon us. Like me, she also remembers the old days when "little things" meant so much. A 'have a nice day", written on her bathroom mirror, or a simple midday phone call to say hello. A "baby I've already made dinner" voice message left on her phone, or "baby I took your car to have it cleaned and filled with gas" note, left under her windshield wiper. These are the simple things that will matter to my future Queen. What man pays attention to that type detail? I do! I always have.
Yes after all these years I still worship the hallowed ground my mother walks on. Likewise I shall continue to. Like Mom, my special someone also exudes a spiritual presence and knows that without belief in a higher power, together we have nothing. Our foundation shall be based on trust, respect, loyalty, morality, service to those less fortunate, and of course grounded in spirituality. "I've got your back baby', whatever decisions you make, I've got your back, because we are one". Put your hand in mine and lets take this journey called "life" together. Let's walk in the rain, stopping to kiss in the middle of the street. Neither of us caring who watches, or takes notice. Lets kiss with tears in both our eyes, giving God all the Glory. Although I'm complete without you, with you by my side I am so much more. My ego and silly pride have both been properly checked at the door; where they belong. On my knees, I beg for your heart and will guard it with my life. My special person won't leave me breathless, instead she will opt to simply take my breath away. A woman of her presence surely has many choices amongst men. I'm humbled she has chosen me. Thank you Jesus! Again my beautiful Sistah's of all colors, Chilvalry is not Dead, and I am DETERMINED TO PROVE IT!
